A recurring character in the series and best known for her Harpy Lady duel monsters deck. She was first voiced by Megan Hollingshead for seasons 1 to 3 before she left 4Kids Entertainment. Mai was then voiced by Erica Schroeder from season 4 onwards.
Why did Megan Hollingshead leave 4Kids?
Hollingshead departed from 4Kids in 2004, which meant that she also left other roles (including Mai Valentine in Yu-Gi-Oh!) that had to be recast. The rest of the original Pokémon anime voice cast was replaced in 2006 when 4Kids were outbid on the rights to dub the show from TAJ Productions.
