With its excellent Speed stat and access to Belly Drum, Poliwag can make a decent sweeper for offensive teams. Its access to Hypnosis can also help it set up and gives it a small niche over other Belly Drum users.

At what level should I evolve Poliwhirl?
If you’re using it as your Water-type, stick with Poliwhirl until it hits Lv 48, when it learns its most powerful Water-type move: Hydro Pump. It will lose out on some Fighting-type moves. If you’re using it as your Fighting-type, evolve at exactly Lv 31.
Should I evolve to Poliwrath or Politoed?
After all the tests we’ve done, there is no scenario in which Politoed is better than Poliwrath. Poliwrath has better stats, higher CP, access to better moves and simply a better overall position in the meta. Save that King’s Rock for Slowking and stick with your favourite Poliwrath.
Can you catch Tentacool with the old Rod Platinum?
Tentacool can also appear at Sunyshore City via Surfing in Platinum. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, it can be found in any area with a body of water except for Route 102, by either Surfing or using the Old Rod or Good Rod.
