Is the G Rate makeup stamp?
The Dove G-rate Makeup Rate stamp was issued on December 13, 1994, with a value of three cents. This stamp’s issuance provided a convenient option for postal customers to use the rest of their 29-cent stamps. By applying the Dove G-rate stamp along with a 29-cent stamp, the new thirty-two cent rate would be fulfilled.
Are US G stamp still good?
Short answer: no, they never expire, even though postage rates are increasing in 2020! They are valid forever as long as they can be validated as legitimate postage. This means if you put an old stamp that looks stained and ratty on a letter with tape, it will likely be rejected.

What is G stamp?
The 32-cent “G” stamp shows the U.S. flag against a white background. The words “Old Glory” are centered above the flag. Inscribed across the bottom are the words: “For U.S. addresses only.” International mailing regulations require that all stamps have numerical values, not letters.

Hayley Fowell of Royal Mail replies: The answer is yes. Stamps without a specified monetary value are described as Non Value Indicator (NVI) and are typically first and second-class stamps. These do not have an expiry date, therefore can be used regardless of the length of time you’ve had them.
