Why is Yu-Gi-Oh so good?
It’s popular because it does a couple things well: theme , accessibility (you can play it with random themes etc), it’s “deep” enough for there to be tournaments, but its still simple enough that anyone can pick up and play. Magic was and is a great game but the fact of the matter is.. its a huge cash drain.
