How do you open the Mewtwo cave in fire red?
Located north of Cerulean City, you must surf to reach the entrance. You cannot obtain access to the cave until you beat the Elite Four, and deliver Celio the Ruby and Sapphire gems to allow for free trade.

Unknown Dungeon is a cave in Kalos. It can only be accessed once the Pokémon League has been defeated. To reach Unknown Dungeon, one must travel through Route 20 to the Pokémon Village and bring a Pokémon who knows Surf. The entrance is located behind a ledge and can be accessed from the surfable river.

Locations: Unlike Mew, you can catch Mewtwo in all three Game Boy Pokemon titles. It’s located at the end of the Unkown Dungeon (which you can access from Cerulean City once you have beaten the game). Simply go north from Cerulean City to Route 24, then use Surf to swim south to get to the cave entrance.
