Can you use foreign cards in Magic tournaments?
Foreign language cards are allowed at any tournament level. At any point you can call a Judge over to pull up the Oracle text of a card. I personally discourage using foreign language cards unless you can clearly and truthfully indicate the card name and effect.
Are damaged MTG cards tournament legal?
Yeah, proxies are not allowed in any sanctioned Magic tournaments. The only exception is for cards that have been damaged during the course of the event (not due to negligence on the player’s behalf), and only the Head Judge can issue that proxy for that event.
Are foreign MTG cards worth more?
Foreign non-foils are pretty easy to price, the tier one languages are usually a few dollars more than English versions.
How do you use advanced search MTG?
When you use Advanced Search, you may specify any number of criteria that your search must match. To do this, you choose a field. Enter into that field’s text box the value you want to search for, and then select the appropriate Boolean operator from the dropdown list.
Are Chinese MTG cards legal?
Can I play Chinese versions of standard legal cards in America? Absolutely, you may.
Are Japanese MTG cards legal?
Yes. Under official Magic, they’re all the same card regardless of the printed language.
Are white-bordered cards legal?
There are no rules concerning white-bordered cards. If a card is legal in the format, you can use it, regardless of whether its border is white or black. It’s silver and gold borders that are not permitted.
Are Gold bordered cards legal?
While gold-border cards aren’t officially legal in Commander, many local playgroups have legalized them and most folks who you’ll play in a pickup game down at your LGS won’t care if you have them.
Why are Japanese MTG cards more expensive?
Basically lower print run and higher demand = higher prices. People like the look of Japanese, Russian, and Korean, so these demand a higher price. They are also in lower supply then English.
Does card kingdom buy foreign cards?
Print. Card Kingdom does not purchase non-English cards through our website buylist at this time. Cards sent through our buylist must be English only. Any non-English cards sent with a buy list order that has not been approved by our buyers may be sent back without processing.
Can a Planeswalker be a commander?
When choosing a commander, you must use either a legendary creature, a planeswalker with the ability to be commander, or a pair of legendary creatures or planeswalkers that both have partner. The chosen card or pair is called the commander or general of the deck.
