How does Commander tax work with partner commanders?
During a game of Commander, your partners function just like a single commander would. They both use the command zone, they’re each subject to commander tax, and they keep separate tallies for commander damage. If a card of effect refers to “your Commander,” you get to choose which partner it applies to.
Does Commander tax apply to alternate casting costs?
Yes, the additional casting cost still applies. The dash cost of Zurgo is an alternative cost, while the “commander tax” is an additional cost. You simply add them together for the total cost of casting your commander. 903.8.
Can you have two of the same partner Commander?
A player can have two commanders if both have partner. Because both commanders start the game in the command zone, the remaining library is only 98 cards. If any card refers to your commander (or commanders in general), it means either one of the two.
