The reason why Broli’s hair changes to purple and later to blue in DBZ Movie 08 instead than the normal Super Saiyan golden-yellow is because of the mind control device that Paragus’ forces him to wear. The device prevents him from fully transforming, but it can’t contain everything.
Can Broly use God Ki?
Broly also already has god ki because of his superior version of mimicry. This is shown when he battled Goku when Goku had to go ssg: Goku was stronger than Broly at that point, but to win and because his mimicry, he absorbed more of Goku’s god ki, to go pass himself and thrash Goku.
Why was Broly a bad guy?
Due to Paragus’ influence throughout his life and by the time he meets Goku and Vegeta, Broly can be best described as a “Villain by Proxy”, due to misguidance rather than him being inherently evil. He also only went on a rampage because of Frieza killing his father.

Broly is a vengeful charecter and he’s obsessive. His overwhelming natural power makes him a very challenging enemy to deal with because he cannot be reasoned with in any way. Broli is evil because hes too much of a beast for all other saiyans.
