Can you activate a quick effect face down?

Face-down cards cannot activate effects, unless the card says otherwise. The effect of “Pyramid Turtle” activates in the Graveyard, when it is sent to the Graveyard after it has been flipped face-up and destroyed by battle. Being face-down will not change this or prevent the effect from activating.

Can you equip to a face down monster?

Face-down Monster Cards cannot be equipped with Equip Cards; if a monster equipped with an Equip Card(s) is flipped face-down, the Equip Card(s) equipped to that flipped monster is destroyed.

Can you activate quick play spells the turn you set them?

Face-down Quick-Play Spell Cards can be activated during either player’s turn, but they cannot be activated the turn they are Set, very much like Trap Card.

Can trap monsters be flipped face down?

When flipped summon, it will be a monster retaining effects. When its flipped face down, (or even face down defense position), returns to the spell/trap zone as a set trap card. When flipped summon, it will be returned to the trap zone as a negated continuous trap card.

While active, a Trap Monster is treated as BOTH a Monster Card and a Trap Card. While active, a Trap Monster can be destroyed by effects that affect Monsters and/or Spells/Traps. (You can use either Dark Hole or Heavy Storm to destroy them.)
