It’s pretty linear most of the game, only once you get to the fourth disc will you get some freedom. You’ll have your objectives there and lots of optional stuff and you can decide what to do then, but before that you really have only one path to take.

It definitely holds up and still looks good and plays well. Personally I found the story a bit lacking and overall a very average rpg. It’s nowhere near as good as final fantasy as some people claim. Having said that it’s not a bad game and worth a play.
