Can you transfer NHL 21 to PS5?
You’ll still be able to play NHL 21 on the next-gen consoles through forward compatibility but we are fully focused on launching NHL 21 on the Xbox One and PS4 and look forward to the opportunities the next-gen systems will bring in the future.

Yes, PS5 players can play online with PS4 players. Players gaming online with a PS4 game on the PS5 can play with players gaming on PS4 with the same game.
Can PS4 and PS5 players play NHL 21 together?
Yes. I have a ps4 and my friend has a ps5. We both played games against each other in online versus.
Why is NHL 21 not on PS5?
Unfortunately, that’s not the case for EA Sports NHL 21. As explained previously, EA chose not to focus on the “resource-heavy task of porting the game to new console technology.” So we won’t be getting a specific PS5 or Xbox Series X version of the game with all the next-gen bells and whistles.
Do I need PlayStation Plus to play NHL 21?
PS+ is not required to play, but you do have to be connected to PSN. Make sure you’re signed in by going into Settings > Playstation Network/Account Management.
Can you play NHL 21 online with friends?
There is a play with friends option on the OTP screen. Invite your friends and then make it public. It might take a couple of tries for the room to become populated. When you invite a friend to your private match on the drop in screen, you should be able to press L3 (click the right stick) and it will make it public.

When creating a party and joining voice chat on PlayStation 5 consoles: Share Play is only supported between users on the same platform at this time. PS5 users can play both PS4 games and PS5 games together via Share Play. PS4 users can continue to enjoy PS4 games together via Share Play.

Re: EA play does not work on PS5 Things work a little differently with the new gen and EA Play. There’s no EA Play Hub app for PlayStation 5. To download a game or early trial, search for the one you want to play in the PlayStation Store from your PlayStation 5 and download it from there.
