Why are figure skaters careers so short?
Hours and hours are spent to perfect one jump or spin. Missing time because of injury is not possible to stay at a high standard. It is athletic and artistic… not all skaters have both. So there are more hours dedicated to refining skills, so as to to be able to perform on an international level.
