Is Progenitus a good commander?
Progenitus has always seemed like the ideal commander for a true 5-color deck; a deck that contains primarily 5-color cards or are fully-powered by having access to all 5 colors of mana or all 5 basic land types (i.e. Sunburst, Converge, Domain, etc.).
What does Progenitus have protection from?
Progenitus has protection from all players, cards, effects, etc. However, if an effect would do something protection doesn’t prevent or otherwise disallow, that effect still affects Progenitus. EDH isn’t about what you play, it’s about who you play with.
Can your commander be shuffled into your library?
Yes, a commander can get shuffled into a library. A good example is Memory Lapse where the player chooses to put the card on top. Then they forget and crack a fetch land or their library gets shuffled some other way.
Do commander effects work in command zone?
It does not have any effect if Phenax is in your command zone. See the comprehensive rules: 604.2. Static abilities create continuous effects, some of which are prevention effects or replacement effects.
How do you deal with Progenitus?
If you can deal with Progenitus, the deck doesn’t have much of a win condition. Counter it or the spells that bring it into play. Make him sacrifice it. Circle of protection against it.
Can you get rid of Progenitus?
So far there has been just one card printed with the “Protection from Everything’ ability, Progenitus from Conflux. But Progenitus can still be destroyed by spells that do not deal damage or target, like Day of Judgment.
Can a Commander be exiled?
Any time your Commander would be sent to exile, graveyard, your hand, or your library from anywhere, you can shunt it off to the Command Zone instead. Well, you can absolutely put your Commander into the Command Zone rather than exile if it eats an Oblivion Ring.
Can you permanently exile a commander?
Since you make their decisions on their turn, you can choose to exile their commander forever. This is easier if the player whose turn your taking has their own way to exile their commander, but still.
