What does the move reflect type do?
Effect. Reflect Type changes the user’s type to match the type or types of the target. If the target has had a type added by Forest’s Curse or Trick-or-Treat, Reflect Type will also copy the added Grass or Ghost type respectively. Reflect Type successfully copies the target’s type even if it is disguised by Illusion.
How much damage does reflect reduce?
Reflect reduces damage from Physical attacks by 50%, for 5 turns. Its effects apply to all Pokémon on the user’s side of the field. If the user is holding Light Clay when Reflect is used, its effects last for 8 turns.
How long does reflect last in Gen 1?
Reflect and Light Screen halve the damage taken from Physical or Special attacks, respectively. They take effect immediately, and the damage reduction isn’t reapplied for every attack. In Generation I, they don’t wear off after five turns, but they disappear if you switch out.
Is reflect a good move for alakazam?
Reflect won’t be too good on Alakazam, as its physical defense is so bad it most likely won’t survive anyways. You might even give your opponent a free opportunity to set up or switch to a counter.

How many turns does reflect last?
Reflect now remains in effect for five turns and will double the Defense of any Pokémon on the user’s side of the field instead.
Is light screen better than reflect?
If you pick Light Screen, put more EVs on Defense and use Bold nature. This way, you can still cut down Special attacks while taking less damage from things like EQ Gross. If you use Reflect, you can either just reverse everything, or you can put EVs on Sp.
