DayZ is a bad game. According to Steam’s admittedly loose records, I’ve spent a whopping—and some would say shameful—405.6 hours in DayZ’s glitch-ridden, apocalyptic multiplayer sandbox, and I wouldn’t trade a single moment of it for all the finely-tuned and properly functioning multiplayer experiences in the world.

No, it’s not worth it. The reason it’s not worth it is because the inspiration for this game, the Arma II DayZ Mod is available. You are guaranteed to get your money’s worth here. A lot of what the standalone is promising is already available in the Mod.
