Why is SMT Nocturne rated M?
Atlus U.S.A. announced today that upcoming post-apocalyptic RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne has earned a “Mature” rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). The game will carry content descriptors of Blood, Intense Violence, Language and Sexual Themes.

How hard is SMT Nocturne?
Normal mode isn’t too difficult, though the game does assume that you will fuse demons and doesn’t really guide you through the best way to do things. Hard mode is very difficult and requires grinding between most stages of the game. Nocturne is one of my all-time favorite games :D.
Why is Dante in Nocturne?
The reason Dante was featured in SMT: Nocturne was because some of the staff at Atlus were big fans of the Devil May Cry franchise while it had launched during the development of Nocturne and thought that Dante, as a fellow demon hunter, would be a perfect fit for the world of Nocturne.
Are the SMT games connected?
The games aren’t really connected except a few exceptions. Persona 1 and 2 (Innocent Sin) are directly connected, since they share party members. Most other SMT games are unrelated to each other except direct sequels like Digital Devil Saga 2 and Raidou 2 but Devil Survivor games are not related to each other.
Is SMT 4 connected?

Easily the best launching point. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor – It’s the most kid friendly, so it might be the easiest. Don’t expect the thrills and deep storytelling of the other games, but it should be enough to wrap your brain around the demon fusing mechanics. Quite fun as well.
Can I start SMT 4?
Both of the games are a great starting place. Be cautious that the beginning of the game is usually the hardest part of any SMT game. So don’t be discouraged if you game over when you’re getting started.
Is SMT Nocturne a good place to start?
I would say Nocturne would be good for your third game. Start with Devil Summoner, move to Digital Devil Saga and then get your Nocturne on! If you like turn based strategy games start with the Devil Survivor games. I would recommend the 3DS versions of those games because the add some demons and scenes.
Do you need to play SMT in order?
As a general rule, almost none of the SMT or Persona games really require you to play other games to understand them. The Devil Summoner games both have the same protagonist, but again it is not necessary to play the first before the second (although if you have both games you should play them in that order).
